Naval Air Station Lemoore is no longer coronavirus-free.
The Navy’s largest master jet base announced Thursday that a service member in the Fleet Readiness Center West tested was tested for coronavirus on March 25.
The positive result was confirmed on Wednesday.
The Navy announced that the patient has remained in quarantine since testing for the virus on March 25 and has reported showing “mild symptoms.”
The service member’s workspace is currently being sanitized.
Navy officials followed up the official announcement noting that internal health professionals “conducted a thorough contact investigation to understand the scope of exposure this individual may have had with other personnel.”
“We are taking necessary precautions to keep everyone safe and informed, and we will coordinate closely with our local commands and state and federal partners. In the meantime, we recommend that all of our personnel follow the latest COVID-19 guidance from Navy Medicine, the Department of Defense, and the CDC,” the statement added.
