Big times are back! Big Fresno Fair announces in-person return in Fall 2021

The Big Fresno Fair is roaring back this Fall, organizers announced on Monday.

The Big Fresno Fair is roaring back this Fall, the 21st District Agricultural Association announced on Monday.

Fair organizers confirmed that The Big Fresno Fair will resume in-person activities this fall, with some modifications to account for the sizable crowds and public health concerns.

No additional details were released on Monday.

The Big Fresno Fair will return Oct. 6 and conclude on Oct. 17, organizers said.

While there was good news out of the Fresno Fairgrounds on Monday, bad news emanated from the troubled Kern County Fair.

The 15th District Agricultural Association board voted on Monday night to cancel the would-be Kern County Fair, originally slated to occur between Sept. 22 and Oct. 3.

The root cause of the cancellation? Kern County Public Health officials opted to extend their contract to use the fairgrounds facility through most of the fair dates for coronavirus vaccination and emergency care facilities.

Fair organizers note that it could host a multi-day festival in 2021, but it would be devoid of any carnival element traditionally part of the Kern County Fair.
