Driving the news: Santos was booted out of the House of Representatives after being charged with fraud and stealing from donors.

  • He is suing for copyright infringement, fraudulent inducement, breach of contract and unjust enrichment.
  • Santos claims that Kimmel misrepresented himself in order to get Santos to create personalized videos that capitalized on and ridiculed his personality.
  • Kimmel allegedly submitted at least 14 requests using phony names and narratives without Santos’ knowledge, which were then played on a segment called “Will Santos Say It?” on the show.
  • Santos is seeking $750,000 in statutory damages for the five videos that were played on the show and on social media platforms, along with other damages to be determined at trial.
