Disney introduces lighting passes at its park

People going to Disneyland will have an option to skip the line at a number of attractions.

Disney is introducing a new Lightning Lane Premier Pass, offering guests faster access to rides at its domestic theme parks, such as Disneyland and Disney World.

The pass allows for one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane experience, allowing guests to skip the standby line and join shorter queues for popular attractions.

The big picture: The Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be available at Disneyland starting on October 23 and at Disney World on October 30, with limited quantities.

  • Unlike previous Lightning Lane options, the Premier Pass does not require guests to choose a specific arrival time for attractions.

Go deeper: In Anaheim, the pass will cost $400 per person per day, with pricing varying by date and demand in the $300 to $400 range starting next year. Guests must also have a valid admission ticket with a Park Hopper benefit.

  • At Disney World in Orlando, pricing for the Lightning Lane Premier Pass will range from $129 to $449 per pass, depending on the date and the park being visited.
  • The pass will provide one-time entry to each available Lightning Lane entrance in one park for one day at Disney World, with no option to use it at multiple parks on the same day.
  • Guests still have the option to use standby lines for attractions and experiences at Disney parks, and a virtual queue is available for a limited number of rides.
