Fresno State is primed to have millions of viewers for its first football game of the 2024 season when the Bulldogs hit the road to take on reigning national champion Michigan.
The Big 10 and NBC announced Monday that the game will be broadcast on NBC on Aug. 31 at 4:30 p.m. PT.
The big picture: This will be the first time in Fresno State’s history that the team will play in a game that is broadcast on NBC.
- It will also be the third consecutive year that the Bulldogs will have a game broadcast on a major network, having been featured on Fox the previous two seasons.
By the numbers: Last year NBC aired 22 games over the course of the season, averaging 2.8 million viewers, according to sportsmediawatch.com.
- Michigan, which went 15-0 under former head coach Jim Harbaugh, played in the top three most-watched games in the country last year.
- Along with the potential for millions of viewers over the air, Fresno State will likely play in front over 100,000 fans in person, since Michigan boasts the largest stadium in college football with a capacity of 107,601.
