The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Tejon Indian tribal land at the base of the Grapevine finally has a start date.
Groundbreaking on the highly anticipated project will happen on Dec. 14.
Driving the news: Phase one, which will see the casino completed, is expected to be completed in October 2025.
- It will feature a 150000 square-foot casino, which will house 3,000 slot machines, 48 table games and restaurants, such as the Hard Rock Cafe.
- Phase two will focus on the 400-room hotel and the Hard Rock Live event center, which will have 2,800 seats. The second phase will also include more casino space, restaurants, a pool, a gym and a spa.
- The project will cost $600 million and is expected to create 5,000 jobs in Kern County.
