The Visalia-Hanford-Lemoore Future reported the settlement between the county and Robert Waggle, the former top investigator in the District Attorney’s office who levied salacious accusations against Fagundes.

The details of the settlement were not revealed publicly.

Last year, Waggle initially leveled a government claim against Fagundes for sexual harassment dating back to 2018.

Per the complaint, Waggle claimed that a pattern of sexual advances and harassment began when Fagundes offered him a rent-free apartment.

Waggle claimed Fagundes refused to accept payment for the apartment and was repeatedly touched in a sexual manner and faced sexual comments from the district attorney.

The Kings County Board of Supervisors – as is typical fashion – shot down the claim, which led to a lawsuit filed by Waggle in September 2021.

Along with the sexual harassment claims, the lawsuit included other allegations including severe claims of professional misconduct such as tampering with evidence in a criminal jury trial.

In the wake of the allegations, Fagundes was ousted from office during the 2022 June Primary from former prosecutor Sarah Hacker. Hacker is set to take office shortly.
