Judge’s All Rise Foundation donates to Fresno’s ACTS Foundation

Underserved children in Fresno will have greater access to an academic mentorship program because of the donation.

A Fresno nonprofit that helps the underserved is one of three mini-grant recipients from the All Rise Foundation.

The All Rise Foundation is a charitable organization founded by New York Yankees captain and former Fresno State Diamond ‘Dog Aaron Judge.

The big picture: The ACTS Foundation in Fresno is receiving a $2,500 mini-grant.

  • The foundation provides food, housing and education to underserved people in the region.
  • With the grant, the ACTS Foundation will expand its mentorship program to accommodate the growing number of youths who participate in the program.
  • Mentors work closely with six to eight youth and provide support and guidance during classes that include education workshops and activities to help with academics. Workshops cover study skills, time management, homework help and career exploration.

What he’s saying: “The All Rise Mini-Grants continue to provide activities that encourage confidence, teamwork and decision-making tools that align with the All Rise Mission,” Judge said. “I am pleased that these organizations are focused on growing the individual students, while providing life skills and opportunities for them to continue to grow in the classroom and the community.”

Zoom out: The other two organizations receiving the mini-grants are the Assistance League of Stockton and the Just Write Community Project in the Bronx.

  • The Assistance League of Stockton provides clothing for underprivileged and homeless children in San Joaquin County. Last year the program served 856 children in 101 schools.
  • The Just Write Community Project trains children to become authors with writing workshops and team building activities.
  • The All Rise mini-grant program supports children and youth programs in San Joaquin County, Fresno County and Bronx County, New York.
