Fresno’s Veterans Blvd. nears completion, delivering changes traffic patterns on Herndon

West Fresno’s Veterans Boulevard project is finally set to change traffic patterns on Herndon Ave. 

The big picture: The City of Fresno announced that as of Wednesday afternoon westbound traffic on Herndon Ave. just west of Polk Ave. will have a new traffic pattern. 

• Drivers in the left lane of westbound Herndon Ave. will merge onto Veterans Boulevard once they are west of Polk Ave. 
• Traffic in the right lane will continue westbound on Herndon Ave. 
• Drivers will also have opportunities to access westbound Herndon Ave. from Veterans Boulevard at Hayes Ave. and Riverside Dr. 
• These changes are part of the Veterans Boulevard-Highway 99 interchange project, which the city says is scheduled to open later this month.
