Fresno police sergeant arrested for attempted lewd act on child 

The officer has been with the department for over three decades.

A Fresno Police Department sergeant was arrested on Wednesday on a felony charge involving attempted relations with a child. 

Driving the news: Fresno police announced that Sergeant Paige McQuay, 56, was booked into the Fresno County Jail. 

  • He faces charges of attempting a lewd act upon a child and communication with a minor intending to commit an unlawful offense. 
  • The Roseville Police Department notified the Fresno Police Department that a felony warrant had been issued for McQuay’s arrest. 
  • McQuay has served on Fresno’s police force since December 1993. 
  • He has been placed on paid administrative league pending an internal investigation.
