The city worked with the state to conduct the raid on a garden distributor.

A major illegal cannabis operation was busted in Fresno on Wednesday.

Fresno City Attorney Andrew Janz announced that the raid took place at Gro More Garden Supply.

The big picture: The city raided a warehouse operating as a garden distributor in Fresno and seized 811 unlicensed marijuana plants.

  • The city also seized hundreds of pounds of illegal cannabis.
  • The warehouse was electrically compromised, resulting in Pacific Gas and Electric shutting off the power, along with other code violations.
  • Janz said the warehouse also had unpermitted modifications.
  • The city’s code enforcement team worked with the Fresno Police Department and the state’s Department of Cannabis Control, Fish and WIldlife, Department of Tax and Fee to conduct the raid.

What they’re saying: “The City of Fresno will continue to target illegal grow operations that styme the legal cannabis industry,” Janz said. “Those who continue to operate outside the bounds of the law will be fined and subject to criminal prosecution.”
