Raising Cane’s, Dutch Bros. coming to SE Fresno

Southeast Fresno is about to welcome two fast-food establishment with loyal, cult-like followings.

Southeast Fresno is poised to be the new home of a popular fast food chicken restaurant as well as the city’s next location for a drive-through coffee giant.

Raising Cane’s – the Louisiana-founded chicken fast food chain – will set up shop at the Kings Canyon Pavilion, located at the northwest corner of Kings Canyon Rd. and Willow Ave.

This is set to be the third Raising Cane’s to open up in the area, following the opening of locations in Clovis (near Shaw Ave. and Clovis Ave.) and Fresno (at Blackstone Ave. and El Paso Ave. near River Park).

Raising Cane’s already has restaurants in the southern San Joaquin Valley with one location in Visalia and four in Bakersfield.

Along with the fast food chain, Kings Canyon Pavilion will also host a new Dutch Bros. drive-through.

The coffee giant has several locations throughout the Fresno/Clovis area, but this will be the first location in the southwest part of town near Sunnyside.

Both sites are expected to open in mid-2022.

The economic movement in southwest Fresno comes as the Kings Canyon Pavilion transitions to new ownership.

Wood Investments Companies, Inc. – a California commercial real estate investment and management organization – announced Monday that it acquired the shopping center.

The company paid $11.8 million for the 152,000-square-foot Kings Canyon Pavilion.

“This site checked all of the Wood Investments boxes and is directly in the middle of a mature Fresno market,” company Chief Operating Officer Greg Vujnov said in a statement.

“Overall the area has strong essential-need tenants that have created a top-tier customer draw, strong tenant synergy and an ideal crossover shopping environment. Retail sales volumes along the Kings Canyon Road corridor are well above retail sales averages, which all combine to make Kings Canyon Pavilion shopping center an attractive location for expanding retailers.”
