Robitussin syrup is being recalled because of a microbial contamination.
The FDA announced that Haleon Healthcare has issued a voluntary nationwide recall for its affected products.
The big picture: Eight lots of Robitussin Honey CF Max Day Adult and Robitussin Honey CF Max Nighttime Adult are being recalled.
- Immunocompromised individuals who use the products could potentially have severe or life-threatening adverse events such as fungemia or disseminated fungal infection.
- Life-threatening events are not likely to occur in people who are not immunocompromised.
- Haleon has not received any reports of adverse events, according to the FDA.
