Threat against Hanford school deemed non-credible

An 11-year-old from a different school district made a threat on TikTok against a Hanford elementary school.

A criminal threat directed at a Hanford elementary school has been deemed to be non-credible. 

Law enforcement investigated a violent threat made against Frontier Elementary School last week on TikTok. 

Driving the news: According to Hanford police, the FBI received information about a school threat posted on a TikTok account on Nov. 22. 

  • Hanford police and school resource officers began an immediate investigation into the threat. 
  • The threat involved violent statements directed at Frontier Elementary, and the school cooperated with the investigation. 

The big picture: Officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Hanford after working through the night to identify the source of the threat. 

  • Officers concluded the investigation on the morning of Nov. 23 and found that the threat was not credible. 
  • Law enforcement identified the primary suspect as an 11-year-old who attended a school in Pioneer Union Elementary School District. 

What we’re watching: The case has been referred to the Kings County Probation Department for any action regarding the 11-year-old.
