Two Valley Assemblymembers to hold positions on Republican Leadership team

The Republican Leadership team is looking to build on its efforts in 2023 to improve communications, relationships with constituents and legislative victories.

Two Central Valley Assemblymembers will be part of the 2024 Assembly Republican Leadership team. 

Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher (R–Yuba City) announced the team on Wednesday.

The big picture: Asm. Heath Flora (R–Ripon) will serve as the Floor Leader, and Asm. Juan Alanis (R–Modesto) will be the Chief Whip. 

  • The other leadership positions are as follows:
    • Caucus Chair: Tom Lackey (R – Palmdale)
    • Deputy Floor Leader: Kate Sanchez (R–Rancho Santa Margarita) 
    • Caucus Policy Chair: Joe Patterson (R–Rocklin) 
    • Caucus Communications Co-Chair: Diane Dixon (R–Newport Beach) 
    • Caucus Communications Co-Chair: Lauri Davies (R–Laguna Niguel) 

What they’re saying: “Our Caucus made great strides in 2023, improving our communications operation, strengthening relationships with constituent groups and scoring major legislative victories in the fight against fentanyl, increased penalties for human traffickers and holding the line on tax increases,” Gallagher said in a statement. 

  • “We have a solid foundation and a united group of leaders inspired to take us to the next level. I’m excited to build on our momentum from last year and look forward to maximizing our potential as a Caucus to deliver results for California families.”
