Former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer is ready to take on Gov. Gavin Newsom.
The only question remaining is when.
As the campaign to seek a recall of Gov. Gavin Newsom steadily advances toward the necessary 1.5 million signatures necessary to trigger a special election, Faucloner and his campaign released a video announcing his candidacy for Governor.
In it, he pitched a “California Comeback” that eschewed perceived lofty, often empty promises proposed by Newsom during his first three years in office.

Faulconer’s exploratory committee announced Monday that he hauled in more than $1 million during the short sprint after he exited San Diego City Hall at the end of 2020.
He will face off against Newsom’s 2018 Republican opponent, John Cox, and relative unknown Major Williams in likely any contest – recall or otherwise.
