Downtown Disney’s Tortilla Jo’s to close down

Disney is renovating its popular outdoor shopping and restaurant area, closing down some longtime restaurants to bring in new establishments.

Downtown Disney Mexican restaurant Tortilla Jo’s is closing its doors at the end of March after two decades of operation.

The big picture: First opening in 2004, Tortilla Jo’s will serve its last customers on March 31, with Taqueria by Tortilla Jo’s remaining open until April 13.

  • The closure is part of a larger renovation project by Disney for the outdoor shopping district.
  • Other restaurants in the area, such as Catal Restaurant and Uva Bar, are also closed to make way for new establishments.
  • New restaurants, including Din Tai Fung, Paseo and Porto’s Bakery, will be opening in Downtown Disney in the near future.
  • The transformation of Downtown Disney is expected to be completed shortly before Thanksgiving.

What they’re saying: “Don’t miss your chance to enjoy your favorite dishes and raise a glass to all the memories we’ve made together over the past two decades,” Tortilla Jo’s posted on Instagram.
