As Gov. Gavin Newsom attempted to cast blame and shift responsibility for the state’s pandemic of retail theft crimes to local law enforcement, Fresno County District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp isn’t letting him or Attorney General Rob Bonta off that easy.
Speaking on a Sunday morning TV show, Smittcamp said Newsom “created this environment” along with his predecessor, former Gov. Jerry Brown.
