Valadao probes Biden admin.: Why hold Calif. dams hostage?

The Hanford Republican sparred with Biden administration officials over budget priorities regarding water resources and energy.

During a Thursday hearing of the House Budget Committee, Rep. David Valadao (R–Hanford) pressed Shalanda Young, director of the Office of Management and Budget, over the Biden administration’s hostility toward expanding and constructing new reservoirs in the Golden State.

“In California it’s always interesting – if they want to build High-Speed Rail or they want to build a football stadium in LA or San Francisco, environmental regulations almost don’t even exist to them. But we talk about a reservoir for 60 years and can’t even break ground on it.”
