AgWest Farm credit offers new grant to help producers get started

New farmers can receive a one-time grant of $15,000 to help jumpstart their operations.

AgWest Farm Credit is opening a $15,000 grant to new producers looking to get started in agriculture. 

Applications for the grant are due by May 31.

Driving the news: The New Producer Grant program will provide $15,000 in start-up funds to successful applications to support their farming operations. 

  • To be eligible, applicants must be a full-time or part-time agriculturalist with two years or less of operational experience or have plans to start within two years. 
  • Applicants must have an operation located within current AgWest territory and not be a lending customer.
