Valley voters buckle down for election weekend blitz. Here’s who has shown up to vote so far.

Here’s a look at voter turnout in the Valley’s hottest contests less than five days from Election Day.

More than 24% of California voters have turned in their ballots heading into the final weekend before the 2024 Presidential Election.

Here’s a look at the turnout, as of Thursday, of some of the most competitive seats, as well as the counties throughout the Central Valley:

Congressional District 13: Two years ago Rep. John Duarte (R–Modesto) won his first election to Congress by 564 votes against former Asm. Adam Gray (D–Merced).

  • But he received over 8,000 votes more than Gray in the March primary this year, despite Democrats holding a 40.9% to 29.6% edge in voter registration over Republicans.
  • Early voter turnout has been strong for Republicans so far. Democrats have 43.4% of the ballots, while Republicans have returned 38% with just under 20% of the total votes cast in the race.

Congressional District 22: Similar to Congressional District 13, Rep. David Valadao (R–Hanford) fended off a challenge by former Asm. Rudy Salas (D–Bakersfield) two years ago, winning by around 3,000 votes in what was one of the closest races in the nation.

  • Republicans are also returning their ballots well above their registration share in the district. Democrats have returned 42.7% of the ballots so far, while Republicans are right behind at 38.8% of the returned share.

Assembly District 27: Low voter turnout in the March primary helped Republican candidate Joanna Garcia Rose place first over Asm. Esmeralda Soria (D–Fresno).

  • So far Democrats have returned 43.8% of the ballots in the 27th district, while Republicans have returned 37.4% of them despite making up only 28.6% of registered voters.
  • The total voter turnout is currently 20.2%.
