An Oakhurst man has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering three people.
The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office announced the sentencing Thursday.
The big picture: Andrew Levi Hammond, 29, was sentenced to three consecutive life without possibility of parole terms on Thursday for three counts of first-degree murder and three personal use of firearm enhancements.
- He was also sentenced to an indeterminate term of 75 years to life in state prison.
- Hammond was convicted of all counts and all firearm enhancements on May 1.
Driving the news: Hammond shot and killed Fernando Gonzales at a Rosary ceremony in Fresno in September 2020.
- In October 2022, Hammond shot and killed Steven Rice at a residence in Fresno after a previous physical altercation between acquaintances of Hammond.
- Just a couple weeks later in November Hammond shot and killed Brandon Munoz at an abandoned house in Fresno during a verbal altercation over a small unpaid debt.
- Hammond also had a lengthy criminal history, including felony auto theft, felony evading and three felony counts of assault by means likely to cause great bodily injury.
