Merced College has had its accreditation reaffirmed for seven years.
Seven years is the maximum term that can be reaffirmed by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC).
The big picture: The ACCJC did not find any violations of compliance requirements and had no recommendations for improving institutional effectiveness.
- The ACCJC said in its findings letter to the college on June 12 that the college “lives its mission and uses data in cross-disciplinary initiatives to support student learning and student achievement.”
- With the accreditation, Merced College is able to provide federal financial aid to students. Merced College provided over $24.5 million in federal financial aid, grants and work study to students in the 2023-2024 academic year.
