Fresno’s Assistant City Clerk Briana Parra is headed to Clovis.
The Clovis City Council unanimously confirmed Parra as the city’s new City Clerk on Monday.
Driving the news: Parra joins Clovis after working in the Fresno City Clerk’s Office since 2017.
- She has achieved the “Certified Municipal Clerk” designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
- She also holds a bachelor’s degree in leadership and organizational studies from Fresno Pacific University.
- Parra stepped in as the interim City Clerk when the Fresno City Council fired former clerk Yvonne Spencer and returned to her role when current clerk Todd Stermer was hired.
- Clovis City Manager John Holt appointed Clerk to the position, which was confirmed by the city council.
What they’re saying: “Clovis is fortunate to have Ms. Parra joining us as our new City Clerk,” Holt said. “Her expertise and years of experience are sure to be invaluable to our community, and we look forward to working collaboratively with her as we continue our efforts to maintain and continually improve upon our city.”
