Fresno Yosemite International Airport to conduct emergency test

The emergency test is conducted once every three years.

Fresno Yosemite International Airport will conduct its Triennial Emergency Exercise on May 29 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The exercise is required by the Federal Aviation Administration and tests airfield disaster preparedness and response.

The big picture: The Test simulates a full-scale emergency and provides the opportunity for the airport to test its emergency plan.

  • Normal airport operations will continue during the test, with flights scheduled to take off and arrive on schedule.
  • The public will not have access to the exercise.

Go deeper: A Bombardier CRJ aircraft, many emergency vehicles and first responders and volunteers role-playing injuries will likely be observed during the test.

  • Fresno Yosemite International Airport will have signs on display in the lobby and boarding gate areas, as well as banners in numerous locations outside, to indicate that the exercise is a test.
