Fresno Yosemite International Airport will conduct its Triennial Emergency Exercise on May 29 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The exercise is required by the Federal Aviation Administration and tests airfield disaster preparedness and response.
The big picture: The Test simulates a full-scale emergency and provides the opportunity for the airport to test its emergency plan.
- Normal airport operations will continue during the test, with flights scheduled to take off and arrive on schedule.
- The public will not have access to the exercise.
Go deeper: A Bombardier CRJ aircraft, many emergency vehicles and first responders and volunteers role-playing injuries will likely be observed during the test.
- Fresno Yosemite International Airport will have signs on display in the lobby and boarding gate areas, as well as banners in numerous locations outside, to indicate that the exercise is a test.
