The Kern County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35 people for possessing illegal firearms and for operating an illegal marijuana grow.
Driving the news: Deputies and the Kern County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force executed a search warrant on Feb. 14 on an illegal indoor marijuana grow operation that was discovered in a large warehouse in the 3400 block of Getty St., Bakersfield.
- During the search 14 suspects attempted to hide inside different grow rooms and refused to comply with law enforcement.
- The other 21 suspects attempted to flee out of the rear of the warehouse.
- All 35 suspects were eventually detained without incident.
- In total, law enforcement eradicated 2,591 marijuana plants from the grow rooms and seized around 500 pounds of processed marijuana.
