LeMay to succeed Radanovich at California Fresh Fruit Association

Ian LeMay will take the helm of the grower group from former Rep. George Radanovich (R-Mariposa), who joined the association as its chief in 2016.

The California Fresh Fruit Association is undertaking a change at the top.

Ian LeMay, the association’s current Director of Member Relations, will be taking the helm of the grower group in June, the association announced.

LeMay will take the helm from former Rep. George Radanovich (R-Mariposa), who joined the association as its chief in 2016.

The move was first reported by industry publication AndNowUKnow.com.

“I am humbled and appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve the members of the California Fresh Fruit Association in a new capacity,” LeMay said in a statement. “I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to observe two great Association leaders in Barry Bedwell and George Radanovich, and thank them for their commitment to bettering our industry. The challenges that face us are many.”

Prior to joining the Association, LeMay served as District Director to Rep. Jim Costa (D-Fresno) from 2011 through 2015. He recently graduated from the California Agriculture Leadership program, with Class 48.

“Ian’s appointment is a reflection of our Board’s commitment to establishing long-term leadership for our industry,” Fresh Fruit Association chairman Randy Giumarra said in a statement. “Our Board and I have worked closely with Ian over the past four years. We are confident in his abilities and look forward to his leadership.”

Radanovich is taking an unspecified position in Washington, D.C. to “promote sound ag labor policy,” the industry pub said.
