Gov. Gavin Newsom’s will visit Fresno on Wednesday as part of a statewide tour to evaluate Golden State’s ongoing homelessness crisis.

Newsom launched his tour earlier this week with a visit to Grass Valley in Nevada County before heading to Riverside and Los Angeles on Tuesday.

During his visit to the Southland, Newsom announced that 58 FEMA-provided temporary shelters that were once being utilized for survivors of the Camp Fire would be distributed across the state to serve as emergency shelters.

“We’re bringing out medical units and tents that we use in post-disasters,” Newsom said during a media appearance on Tuesday.

An additional 42 FEMA trailers would be distributed once vacated by remaining Camp Fire survivors.

Newsom will visit a behavioral health facility owned by Exodus Recovery, Inc. in southeast Fresno.
