Bulldogs headed to NFL as undrafted free agents

While Fresno State did not have any players hear their name called in the draft, a few impact players from last year’s team have signed with teams.

Three Bulldogs who starred on the football field last year will have a shot at making an NFL roster this fall.

Safety Dean Clark, wide receiver Mac Dalena and linebacker Tuasivi Nomura signed as undrafted free agents over the weekend after the 2025 NFL Draft concluded without any Fresno State players selected.

Where they’re going: Clark is heading to the New York Jets after playing at Fresno State for two seasons.

  • He transferred from Kent State in 2023 and racked up 146 tackles and 4 interceptions in his two seasons as a Bulldog, earning an honorable mention All-Mountain West selection last year.
  • Dalena, a Fresno native, signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. Dalena played five seasons for Fresno State and broke out last season with over 1,000 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns.
  • He earned first team All-Mountain West honors last year as he was second in the conference in receiving yards.
  • Nomura, who transferred to Fresno State in 2023 from USC, is going to the Carolina Panthers.
  • He was a team captain last year and led the Bulldogs with 110 tackles en route to a first team All-Mountain West selection.

Former Bulldogs find teams: The three Bulldogs to sign as undrafted free agents weren’t the only players with Fresno State connections to earn opportunities at the next level.

  • Four former Bulldogs who transferred from Fresno State to other universities also signed as undrafted free agents.
  • Tight end Tre Watson played for Fresno State from 2021 to 2023 and transferred to Texas A&M. He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, alongside Dalena.
  • Wide receiver Josh Kelly initially stayed home to play for Fresno State from 2019 to 2022. He transferred to Washington State for one season and then finished his career at Texas Tech. Kelly signed with the Dallas Cowboys.
  • Cornerback Bralyn Lux, who played at Fresno State from 2019 to 2022 before transferring to Texas Tech, signed with the Cincinnati Bengals.
  • Quarterback Ben Wooldridge signed with the New England Patriots after the draft. Wooldridge played at Fresno State from 2018 to 2020 and competed against former Bulldog Jake Haener for the starting job ahead of the 2020 season. He transferred to Louisiana, where he played for three seasons after sitting out 2021.
