Parlier police officer dies in traffic accident 

The officer died in a traffic collision early Sunday morning when he was heading into the office.

Parlier police officer Jesus Dario Corona, 29, passed away early Sunday while he was on his way to work. 

The Parlier Police Department said Corona died in a traffic collision in the 13500 block of Avenue 152 in southern Tulare County. 

The big picture: Parlier police said deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, Emergency Medical Services and California Highway Patrol responded to the accident, but unfortunately Corona had passed away. 

  • The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident. 
  • Corona is survived by his wife and a six-year-old daughter, who live in Porterville. He is also survived by his parents, two sisters and one brother. 
  • Corona was a member of the Parlier Police Department for around two years and served as a Patrol Officer and as a School Resource Officer at Parlier High School. 

What they’re saying: “Chief Salvador, members of the Parlier Police Department, and the City of Parlier extend our deepest sympathy and utmost condolences to the family during this tragic time,” the department said in a statement.

Thank you to Sheriff John Zanoni and deputies of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office for handling our call for service for the next 24 hours to allow our Parlier Police Department family to be with our families to grieve at this difficult time.”
