Tribe selects contractor to design, build Kern Co.’s Hard Rock Tejon Casino

The much-awaited Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Kern County is finally picking up steam.

Monday, the Tejon Indian Tribe announced its general contractor selection to lead the design and construction of the casino, to be located just outside of Mettler.

The news was first reported by KGET.

The chosen contractor? The PENTA Building Group, who will work with Klai Juba Wald as architect of record.

Additionally, Friedmutter Group Architecture & Interior Design Studios will serve as design architect and interior designer on the casino project, the tribe announced.

Work to build a casino in southern Kern County has been long-sought ever since the Federal government recognized the Tejon Tribe in 2012.

In total, the casino, concert venue, and hotel complex will sit on a 300-acre site under the Hard Rock International banner (itself owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida).
