Madera Community Hospital nears opening. Here’s what is going on.

Madera Community Hospital is one step closer to reopening, its CEO announced on Sunday.

After months of waiting, Madera Community Hospital is nearing reopening, the hospital’s new CEO announced on Sunday.

Hospital chief Steve Sark revealed that a California public health survey has been initiated to evaluate the hospital’s resources.

Driving the news: During a recent social media announcement, Stark explained that the survey is anticipated to last about a week.

  • Surveyors from the State will assess the hospital’s readiness to cater to patients by scrutinizing policies, procedures, employee files, facilities, supplies, and equipment.
  • Upon completion of the survey, the hospital is expected to be granted permission to admit patients.
  • Stark also mentioned plans to announce an official start date for patient intake in the emergency room and the hospital following the survey’s conclusion.
  • Delays in the hospital’s opening date and the survey were necessary to ensure proper maintenance and care of the building after sitting empty for two years.

What they’re saying: “We want to be ready,” Stark said. “We appreciate your patience in waiting for this important day to come.”
