After months of waiting, Madera Community Hospital is nearing reopening, the hospital’s new CEO announced on Sunday.
Hospital chief Steve Sark revealed that a California public health survey has been initiated to evaluate the hospital’s resources.
Driving the news: During a recent social media announcement, Stark explained that the survey is anticipated to last about a week.
- Surveyors from the State will assess the hospital’s readiness to cater to patients by scrutinizing policies, procedures, employee files, facilities, supplies, and equipment.
- Upon completion of the survey, the hospital is expected to be granted permission to admit patients.
- Stark also mentioned plans to announce an official start date for patient intake in the emergency room and the hospital following the survey’s conclusion.
- Delays in the hospital’s opening date and the survey were necessary to ensure proper maintenance and care of the building after sitting empty for two years.
What they’re saying: “We want to be ready,” Stark said. “We appreciate your patience in waiting for this important day to come.”
