New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge is working to help children across the country enhance their reading skills.
Judge’s ALL RISE Foundation announced this week that it will hold its ALL RISE 2025 Summer Book Club from June 3 to Sep. 3.
The big picture: The book club challenges readers to choose a grade-level book from its list.
- It was launched in the summer of 2023 with around 150 readers and had around 350 members from 170 communities last year.
- The ALL RISE Foundation plans to have 600 book club members this summer.
Zoom in: The book club is open to all students from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
- Anyone interested in joining the program can sign up at AaronJudgeALLRISEfoundation.org.
- Students will receive a certificate from Judge after they submit a book report.
What he’s saying: “The ALL RISE Mission to help youth reach their unlimited possibilities begins with the gift of reading,” Judge said. “As our Book Club gears up for its third year, we are looking to triple our reach with our carefully curated grade-level book lists that allow parents to read to their little ones and older students to find fiction or nonfiction books that inspire them to read for fun. As we head into summer, I hope you will continue to cheer on the Yankees, but I also hope you will share our book lists with the youth in your lives. With your help, we can ensure that children everywhere improve their literacy and fulfill their dreams like I have.”
