Former Rep. Connie Conway (R–Tulare) has been reappointed as the State Executive Director of the California Farm Service Agency.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced the appointment last Friday.
Driving the news: Conway was previously appointed to the role in 2019 by President Donald Trump during his first term in office.
- She served in the California Assembly from 2009 to 2014, rising to the position of Assembly Republican Leader, which came after eight years as a Tulare County Supervisor.
- Conway served in Congress from 2022 to 2023, finishing out the term of former Rep. Devin Nunes (R–Tulare).
- Conway rejoins the Farm Service Agency after recently serving as the chairman of the World Ag Expo.
What they’re saying: “When America’s farming communities prosper, the entire nation thrives,” said Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins. “This new group of USDA appointees will ensure President Trump’s America First agenda is a reality in rural areas across the country. I am grateful for the leadership of these new state directors and look forward to their work reorienting the agency to put Farmers First again.”
