Castle Air Museum set to reopen Friday

As California begins the process of reopening amid the coronavirus pandemic at the end of the week, Castle Air Museum in Atwater is set to reopen on Friday.

The museum shut down on March 23 due to the state’s stay-at-home order at the outset of the coronavirus pandemic.

Officials said that the museum is one of the first air museums in the state to reopen.

The museum is outdoors, so social distancing practices will be easy to observe.

Castle Air Museum is reopening on a significant date.

Friday marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day – Victory in Europe Day – which was the end of World War II in Europe.

Castle Air Museum opened in 1981 and has a military aircraft collection ranging from pre-World War II to present day, including an Air Force One plane that was in service from 1975 to 2005.
