Clovis Unified ranked among top U.S. employers for women

The ranking – which exceeds that of a number of top U.S.-based corporations, arrived via a new survey from Forbes Magazine.

Clovis Unified School District has been named one of the best employers for women.

Forbes Magazine partnered with market research firm Statista to rank the best employers for women, with Clovis Unified coming in ninth nationally – above a bevy of Fortune 500 companies.

Forbes and Statista surveyed 75,000 people, including 45,000 women, working for businesses that employ over 1,000 workers.

The individuals surveyed came from 31 industries and were asked about their employer’s culture, opportunities for career development, image, working conditions, salary and wages and diversity.

With 5,000 employees, Clovis Unified School District is the smallest employer in the top 10 and the only school district in the top 30.

Recreational equipment company REI came in atop the list, followed by Unilever, Ulta Beauty, The Hartford and Coca-Cola.

Clovis Unified Superintendent Eimear O’Farrell said the district is very proud to be recognized on the list.

“Clovis Unified has three defined aims upon which we base all of our decisions,” said O’Farrell in a statement. “Aim No. 3 states that we hire, develop, sustain and value a high-quality, diverse workforce. We truly value all of our employees and will continue making efforts to provide professional development, support and a culture of respect and opportunities for them.”
